Abstract

Erosion Mapping to Determine Soil and Water Conservation Planning in Busungbiu District. Busungbiu district has a sloping area of more than one third of the area of Busungbiu district itself, with a percentage of sloping area of 36.02%. Busungbiu district is the district that has the highest sloping area in Buleleng Regency. This study aims to determine the level of erosion and its distribution, the amount of erosion allowed and the appropriate conservation planning in Busungbiu district. The methods used were field survey and Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE). The results showed that Busungbiu district has very light to very heavy erosion levels with values of 0.39 tons/ha/year - 629.45 tons/ha/year. Very light erosion is found in HLU 1, 14, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20 with a total area of 3,303.52 ha. Light erosion is found in HLU 15 with a total area of 62.71 ha. Moderate erosion is found in HLU 8 and 10 with a total area of 721.95 ha. Heavy erosion is found in HLU 3, 5, 6, 9, 12 and 13 with a total area of 5,413.69 ha. Very heavy erosion is found in HLU 2, 4, 7 and 11 with an area of 1,632.04 ha. The allowable erosion value in Busungbiu district ranges from 8.78 tons/ha/year - 32.82 tons/ha/year. The recommended conservation planning is the improvement of vegetation and land management factors if erosion is greater than the allowable erosion, otherwise it needs to be conserved.
