Abstract

The increasing number of motor vehicles in Indonesia has led to a rise in fossil fuel consumption and
air pollution. One solution to address this issue is the development of energy -efficient electric vehicles, such as
the Urban Concept Weimana. One of the key structural components being developed is the steering knuckle.
This study aims to determine the strength of the steering knuckle in the Urban Concept Weimana under static
conditions using assental steel material through Ansys Workbench software. The st eering knuckle bears the load
of each front wheel, which is 26.2 kg. The analysis was conducted on deformation, von Mises stress, and safety
factor values. The simulation results showed a maximum deformation of 0.95943 mm, a von Mises stress of
97.281 MPa, and a safety factor of 2.5699. These values fall below the safe limit , indicating that the steering
knuckle is not safe to be used in the Urban Concept Weimana vehicle.
