Abstract

This research aims to examine hydrogen concentration through the application of the Water Gas Shift (WGS) and
Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) methods at an adsorption pressure of 80 psi. The test results indicate that the
WGS process produced a gas composition with hydrogen at 48.68%, carbon monoxide at 45.58%, and carbon
dioxide at 5.74%. After undergoing the PSA process, the hydrogen concentration increased to 54.16%, while the
carbon monoxide content decreased to 44.50%, and the carbon dioxide content also decreased to 1.20%. These
findings indicate that PSA is more optimal in increasing hydrogen levels and reducing the amount of impurity
gases, making it highly potential for application in hydrogen purification on an industrial scale.
