Abstract

Spot welding joint is a significant step in an effort to reduce the weight of the vehicle body, where the connection can be made
between steel materials and light materials (Aluminum, Galvanium, etc.). The connection not only reduces the weight of the
vehicle's body, but also anti-corrosion and increases the impact force (Croshworthiness).
Welding research for modern manufacturing has largely been developed towards the use of automation and robotic
applications. Meanwhile, to find out the influence of parameters and characteristics has been extensively researched, but
related to the connection of welding merits as well as the dissimilar material capabilities and the use of spot welding assembled
on the robot arm there are not many references that can be obtained, therefore research was carried out on the use of Gun
spot welding which is assembled with the robot arm where Gun spot welding using electrode tape on the End Effector Robot
Arm was designed.
The result of this design is that the designed spot welding system has the capacity to produce a clamping force of 99.28 Newtons
and a maximum pressure of 9.93 MPa which is sufficient to perform welding on thin sheet metals such as steel and galvanium.
It can also be concluded that the Ampere designed electrical system with transformer efficiency reaches 91% with an average
press time of 4 seconds, indicating that the system is capable of supporting the heat energy requirements for spot welding.
