Author Guidelines for Majalah Ilmiah Teknologi Elektro (MITE)

These guidelines are designed to help authors prepare manuscripts for submission to Majalah Ilmiah Teknologi Elektro (MITE). Adhering to these instructions will ensure a smooth review process and timely publication.

  1. General Information

  • Review Articles: Comprehensive and critical surveys of existing literature on a specific topic. (Recommended word count: 8,000-12,000 words).
  • Short Communications: Brief reports of preliminary but significant findings. (Recommended word count: 2,000-3,000 words).
  • Case Studies: Detailed accounts of specific cases or situations with broader implications. (Recommended word count: 3,000-5,000 words).

      2.2. Formatting

  • Language: All manuscripts must be written in clear and concise English (either American or British English, consistent throughout the manuscript).
  • File Format: Submit your manuscript as a Microsoft Word document (.docx).
  • Font: Use Times New Roman, 12pt font size, with 1.5 line spacing.
  • Margins: Set margins to 2.5 cm (1 inch) on all sides.
  • Page Numbers: Number all pages consecutively starting from the title page.
  • Line Numbers: Include continuous line numbering throughout the manuscript.

      2.3. Manuscript Structure

      Manuscripts should generally be organized as follows:

  • Title Page (separate file for double-blind review):
    • Full Title: Concise and informative.
    • Authors' Names and Affiliations: Full names of all authors, their institutional affiliations, and email addresses.
    • Corresponding Author: Clearly indicate the corresponding author with their email address and ORCID ID.
    • Conflict of Interest Statement: Declare any potential conflicts of interest.
    • Funding Statement: Acknowledge all sources of funding.
    • Author Contributions: Briefly describe the contribution of each author.
  • Abstract: A single paragraph of 200-250 words summarizing the research's purpose, methods, key findings, and conclusions. Do not include references or abbreviations.
  • Keywords: Provide 3-5 relevant keywords that are not present in the title.
  • Introduction: Provide background information, state the research problem, review relevant literature, and clearly state the research objective(s) or hypothesis.
  • Materials and Methods: Describe the experimental design, participants/materials, procedures, and data analysis methods in sufficient detail to allow for replication. For studies involving human participants or animals, clearly state that ethical approval was obtained (include ethics committee name and approval number).
  • Results: Present your findings clearly and concisely, primarily using text, supported by figures and tables. Avoid discussing or interpreting the results in this section.
  • Discussion: Interpret your results in the context of previous research, discuss their implications, highlight limitations, and suggest future research directions.
  • Conclusion: Briefly summarize the main findings and their significance.
  • Acknowledgments (optional): Acknowledge individuals or institutions that provided assistance but do not meet the criteria for authorship.
  • References: Follow the [e.g., IEEE Style] referencing style. All references cited in the text must appear in the reference list, and vice versa. Use a reference management software (e.g., Zotero, Mendeley, EndNote) to ensure accuracy.
    • In-text citations: [Provide examples based on chosen style, e.g., "(Smith, 2020)" or "[1]"]
    • Reference list examples: [Provide specific examples for journal articles, books, book chapters, websites based on chosen style]

       2.4. Figures and Tables

  • Placement: Figures and tables should be placed within the text where they are first cited.
  • Numbering: Number all figures and tables consecutively (e.g., Figure 1, Figure 2; Table 1, Table 2).
  • Captions: Each figure and table must have a concise, descriptive caption placed below the figure or above the table, respectively.
  • Resolution: Figures should be high resolution (minimum 300 dpi for images, 600 dpi for line art).
  • Format: Acceptable formats for figures include .jpeg, .png, .tiff, .eps. Tables should be created using Word's table function.
  • Permissions: If using previously published figures or tables, authors must obtain written permission from the copyright holder and provide evidence of this permission.
  1. Submission Process
