Abstract

Current information has become easily accessible through the internet, particularly via popular social media platforms like Instagram. The Badung Regency government actively employs their official account, @pemkabbadung, on Instagram to disseminate information to the public, successfully attracting thousands of followers. This research aims to evaluate the level of satisfaction among residents of Badung Regency regarding the information conveyed through this account. The research method employed is quantitative with a descriptive approach, where data is collected through online questionnaires distributed to respondents. Analysis is conducted by comparing expected gratifications (EG) with obtained gratifications (OG), and by utilizing expectancy-value satisfaction indicators and uses and gratification theory. The research findings indicate that the average expected gratification is 3.11, while the obtained gratification reaches 3.04, indicating a satisfaction gap (EG > OG). The highest average satisfaction is found in Abiansemal District, while the lowest is in Petang District. Although satisfaction is observed in indicators such as information motive and entertainment motive, overall satisfaction levels are still deemed low. These findings provide valuable insights into the community's perception regarding the fulfillment of information needs via Instagram, while highlighting the importance of enhancing the quality and relevance of information disseminated by local governments through this platform.
