Geguritan Dharma Sesana: Analisis Isi dan Nilai Sosial

Abstract

Geguritan is a Balinese literary genre whose formation is bound by a section called pupuh. Each pupuh consists of several lines, each line has a number of syllables (kecap) and the final sound of each line (pengatut sound). Geguritan Dharma Sesana, in its creation, has fulfilled these requirements (paletan tembang) and the content builds a narrative that describes human life in relation to moral values that should be used as a guide in everyday life. Geguritan Dharma Sesana is full of religious teachings and moral values and functions in character and aesthetic formation which is very necessary in the context of the modern era. The study of Geguritan Dharma Sesana will explain the dharma and ethical values contained in this text, including values that can contribute to offering a return to the value of awareness of how important truth and wisdom are in an ever-changing era.
