DAYA KEKUATAN BAHASA DAERAH PADA ERA INFORMASI

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the strengthening of local language which causes this language be maintenance or shifting or even death. By the revealing of local language strengthening, it can be used to have solution for its maintaining and developing of the language. This article used observation technique in collecting the data, while the analysis used descriptive qualitative in which it describes all the phenomenon. The results show: (1) the power of language and strengthening position of local language fill special spaces in the context of culture, customs and arts. The existence of a local language lays on the feelings, the meanings behind, and the emotional diction tightening. While the identity power of the language lays in the ethnic culture and the bonding of togetherness, (2) the comprehensive mastering of local language will automatically get the power and maintain the power in the context of culture, beliefs, customs, tradition, and arts, (3) the loyalty, preserving and developing in the use of local language will depend on the native speakers as the strengthening of the language is on the hands of the speaker externally and not internally. It can be said that although the information and digitalization are massive, the strengthening of a local language is on the hands of the speakers.
