PELESTARIAN BAHASA BALI MELALUI PERTUNJUKAN TARI DOLANAN “MESAU-SAUAN” PADA PESTA KESENIAN BALI: KAJIAN SOSIOLINGUISTIK

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the “Mesau-sauan” dolanan dance performance by the Bangli Regency at the 2022 Bali Arts Festival. Showing the existence of the dolanan dance as an effort to preserve the Balinese language. The data source in this research is data published on YouTube social media by the Provincial Disbud. Bali. Data collection was carried out using observation, document review and listening methods assisted by note-taking techniques. Data were analyzed using qualitative methods with analytical descriptive techniques. Presentation of data analysis results using informal methods. Referring to the results of sociolinguistic studies with the preservation of the Balinese language through local Balinese wisdom, namely that dolanan dance performances in Bali have a high presence and attract the interest of the audience in each performance because most of them contain humor (comedy) which is acted out by children according to regional accents or dialects. Dolanan dance performances are one of the efforts to preserve the Balinese language considering that with current developments, the younger generation is starting top ut aside the use of the Balinese language due to the development of slang in cyberspace and daily life communication. In this regard, dolanan dance performances provide positive implications for education because they contain moral values in the performance.
