ANALISIS WACANA PADA PEMBERITAAN “TUJUH BULAN TAK DITANGANI, WARGA GERAM JALAN JEBOL DI JALUR GIANYAR–KLUNGKUNG”
Abstract
Local social media plays a strategic role in shaping the flow of information regarding social conditions, public policies, and infrastructure development at the regional level. In the local context of Bali, social media functions as an alternative medium for articulating issues that directly affect the daily lives of the community. This study aims to analyze the discourse of public criticism concerning road damage along the Gianyar–Klungkung route as presented in social media posts by Info Baline Jani. Discursively, the posts employ lexical choices and sentence structures that emphasize temporal duration, citizens’ emotions, and the perceived unresponsiveness of the government. This research adopts a qualitative descriptive approach, with data consisting of news headlines, captions, and netizen comments. The analysis is conducted using Norman Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis model, which encompasses text analysis, discourse practice, and social practice. The findings indicate that the use of evaluative lexis, passive constructions, imperative sentences, as well as deontic and epistemic modalities represents public dissatisfaction with the government’s slow response. The constructed discourse reflects unequal power relations and promotes an ideology of accountability in public service delivery.
