ADAPTASI PERILAKU KOMUNIKASI INTERPERSONAL GURU DALAM PEMBELAJARAN MURID GENERASI ALPHA DI SD NEGERI CANDIREJO

Abstract

Differences in characteristics between teachers and Generation Alpha students in the digital era require teachers to adapt their interpersonal communication behavior during the learning process. This study aims to analyze teachers' adaptation of interpersonal communication behavior in teaching Generation Alpha students at SD Negeri Candirejo. The research employed a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving teachers as the primary informants and students as supporting informants. The findings reveal that teachers adapted their communication by simplifying verbal messages, utilizing supportive nonverbal communication, employing learning media according to instructional needs, and implementing flexible interaction strategies based on students' characteristics. Although digital media were used in certain learning situations, teachers predominantly relied on face-to-face communication as the primary communication channel because it was considered more effective in building interaction, maintaining students' attention, and ensuring their understanding during classroom learning. The study concludes that teachers' interpersonal communication adaptation is a dynamic and contextual process in which communication effectiveness depends on teachers' ability to adjust their communication strategies to the characteristics and needs of Generation Alpha students.
