Abstract

This research examines the Cyber Public Relations (CPR) strategies implemented by the Public Relations Division of Polres Badung to increase public trust through the social media platform Instagram. The background of this study is based on the decline in public trust toward the police institution due to various negative issues circulating online. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of the @polresbadung_ Instagram account and the activities of the Public Relations Division during the period of August to December 2024. The findings reveal that the Public Relations Division of Polres Badung applies CPR strategies through four main stages based on the Circular Model of SoMe for Social Communication: share, optimize, manage, and engage. These stages are implemented through consistent dissemination of informative and factual content, optimization of Instagram features, responsive interaction management, and active public engagement through collaboration and two-way communication according to the James E.Grunig model. These strategies have proven effective in enhancing the positive image of Polres Badung and rebuilding public trust in the police institution.
