Pemanfaatan Kecerdasan Buatan untuk Pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris di SD Negeri 5 Ubud

Abstrak

The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) has opened new opportunities to improve the quality of English language instruction, particularly at the elementary school level. This research was carried out at Sekolah Dasar Negeri 5 Ubud, Gianyar, Bali, with the aim of exploring the implementation of AI-based tools, including interactive chatbots, pronunciation applications, and adaptive learning software, to support students' English listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. The program was conducted through focus group discussions, needs analysis, training, and mentoring involving teachers and students. The results show that AI-based media made English lessons more engaging and interactive, allowed students to learn at their own pace, and provided instant feedback that helped them recognize and correct their own mistakes. Teachers also gained new competencies in integrating AI tools into their teaching practice. However, the implementation still faces challenges related to teachers' technological readiness and the availability of adequate internet infrastructure at the school. The outcomes of this program have been disseminated through a national seminar and are being prepared for publication in accredited national journals. This study is expected to serve as a reference for the adoption of AI-based learning media in other elementary schools facing similar challenges in English language instruction.
